Meet the 2024 Chevy Trax

The Chevy Trax has been available in the US since 2015. Chevy has continued to make updates and changes to the vehicle over the past eight years. In 2024, it will be redesigned with a stylish look, additional space, and enhanced safety. However, it is still holding on to its affordable price tag. This article will give you updated information about what we believe will be incorporated in the 2024 version of the Trax.

What to Look Forward to in 2024

The Chevy Trax is planning to reappear in the Spring after a brief time away. It has more standard options than previous versions. The interior has been expanded to give more legroom to passengers riding in the bag. It has a longer wheelbase and more cargo space. Buyers will be able to choose from five trim levels instead of the two offered in previous years.

In 2024, the Trax borrows the engine from the Trailblazer, which actually gives it less horsepower than it had previously. This may be surprising to some because the reduction is significant. In 2024, it will have a 137-horsepower turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. Again, this is a reduction from the 155 horsepower in past models.

Trim Levels

There are five trim options, LS, IRS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV, in the upcoming Chevy Trax. The base model, which is the LS, starts at around $21,495. The 2RS and ACTIV are the top of the line trims, and you can expect them to start around $24,995. In the middle of the trim levels, you will find IRS and LT.

The LT gives the most bang for its buck. It's affordable while offering a good number of features. It has a large infotainment touchscreen and remote start. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard at this trim level. In addition, you have the option to upgrade to heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Safety Features

Now, you can expect every Trax to have a wide range of safety and driver-assistance features. It is called the Safety Assist suite. While there is a range of features available, some of the key items include adaptive cruise control. You will also find automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection as standard options. Other standard options are lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning.

Interior Comfort

Anyone familiar with previous iterations of the Chevy Trax will find the interior has been completely redesigned. The infotainment system conveniently faces the driver, and the climate controls are in a place that's functional for the driver. There are some interior features that are precisely what you would expect from a vehicle at this price point. Additionally, this vehicle is affordable because it has materials that are middle of the road.

This version has three more inches of legroom in the back, thanks to the longer wheelbase. This expansion also gives more cargo space. In addition, some trim levels offer features like a sunroof, remote start, heated steering wheel, and heated seats.

Fuel Economy

The fuel economy hasn't been rated by the EPA for the 2024 Trax. However, we can give you some expected fuel economy based on the fuel usage by the Trailblazer. Since the Trax is using the same powertrain as the Trailblazer, it isn't farfetched to think the economy will be about the same. The Trailblazer is rated for 29 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway. The Trax is a bit larger, so it could see a slight drop in fuel efficiency as a result.

The Chevy Trax is not expected to show up in dealerships until the Spring. While you won't be able to see one in person before the Spring of 2023, you should keep an eye out for them soon.
